Hunt Valley Medley

This is what happens when a perfectly nice hotel redecorates and installs perfectly ugly carpet.

(To the tunes of "Aquarius" and "Hair" ) M. James 06/24/06

(Aquarius bit)

When bamboo is in the Paddock Lounge
And plastic grass is outside Chase and Tack
And lime green panes are on the walls
You'll beg the hotel to take it back

This is the dawning of the age of rug-ugliness
Age of rug-ugliness
Rug-ugliness, rug-ugliness

When business forgets community
And throws away it's unique history
And thinks the new look is beauty
We say to Hunt Valley

This is the dawning of the age of rug-ugliness
Age of rug-ugliness
Rug-ugliness, rug-ugliness

(Hair bit)

Give me a rug with squares (squares!)
Loud, colorful squares
Ovals, squiggles, stripes and bright blue borders

Look out over there (squares!)
Green vines getting nearer
Flashbacks looming
Everywhere I can't escape from
Squares! (6x)

Queasy, teary
My eyes getting bleary
From squares

Olympic rings in the lobby
Was this someone's hobby
To carpet the hotel in these squares
One looks like flat corn husks
Another might be Kermit squashed
A backgammon board gone to its reward
And everywhere I run I'm on these

Squares! (6x)
Queasy, teary
My eyes getting bleary
From squares

Queasy, teary
My eyes getting bleary
From squares!
