(Hum a favorite Christmas song as you read the words) M.C. Dougherty 08/2012
It's beginning to feel a lot like summer
The heat is on the rise
With the temperature 98
Make sure that you hydrate
To play outside would simply be unwise
It's beginning to feel a lot like summer
And time for some concern
The stalwart time is when
Use Factor a-hundred-and-ten
To prevent sunburn
We could jump in a pool to try to get cool
Take a walk in tree-covered glen
Get a slushy that's green or vanilla ice cream
Have a snow-ball now and again
Or sit and contemplate about the winter of twenty-ten
It's beginning to feel a lot like summer
The heat index is one-oh-six
Pools in every yard
Don't get caught off-guard
It's time to find your summer bag of tricks
It's beginning to feel a LOT like summer
It is almost July
But the hottest is still to come
And the heat of an August sun
Will be here ere nigh
